Discipline & general rules

Rules on the identity card, dress, attendance and conduct on campus.

As a student you are a member of the college family, and you are expected to remain mindful of your conduct and to add to the college’s good name. To that end every student must observe the following:

Every student is issued an identity card, which must be kept on the person at all times and produced at once when asked for by the principal, the teaching staff, officers or employees of the college. The card also serves as the library card and is countersigned by the principal.
The identity card is renewed every year.
A student who finds someone else’s card, or loses their own, must inform the principal.
A student whose original card is lost must pay a fee of ₹20 at the college office to obtain a duplicate.
Using another student’s identity card is treated as an unpardonable offence.
Leaving the campus during teaching hours without the permission of the principal or the chief proctor is treated as indiscipline, and disciplinary action follows.
Every student must come to college in the prescribed uniform.
Mobile telephones may not be used on the campus or in the main examination. A student found using one on the campus is fined ₹50, and a repetition draws disciplinary action.
Paan, gutkha and smoking are altogether forbidden on the campus, and every student is expected to observe this fully.
University rules require 75 per cent attendance in every class. A student who falls below it may be barred from the examination.
Shortfalls in attendance are posted on the college notice board from time to time, and parents are expected to keep a close watch on their wards in this respect.
Teachers also record attendance in the class registers, and students should ask their teachers about their own attendance from time to time.
